Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov and UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States Ivana Živković discussed prospects for cooperation in agriculture.

The parties exchanged views on the negative global impacts of climate change, the reduction of water resources, and the factors threatening food security.

The Minister emphasized that under challenging climatic conditions, ensuring the population’s access to quality food remains one of the government’s key policy priorities.

Both parties expressed their readiness to jointly work on projects in Uzbekistan related to the digitalization of agriculture, the introduction of modern agrotechnologies, enhancing export potential, and ensuring regional food security.

Such meetings contribute to strengthening strategic ties between Uzbekistan and UNDP and represent an essential step toward sustainable development, climate adaptation, and food security across Central Asia.
