As previously reported, Tashkent hosts the Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Media Forum “In Search of Truth in the Digital Age: Combating Disinformation”.

As part of the media forum, which consisted of three sessions, essential aspects of the work of the media in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were considered.

The first session was devoted to fighting disinformation, during which representatives of the two countries shared international practices and successful examples. This created the basis for discussing the second issue – media literacy. Participants considered the role of state and non-governmental organizations in raising public awareness and presenting various projects and programs.

Head of the Department for Work with NGOs and Communication of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Hasanov emphasized the event’s importance as a new stage in relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, adding that the forum will become a catalyst for further development of cooperation in media.

Following the forum, the third session was held, focused on strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the media. Participants proposed new ideas and initiatives to further develop the partnership.

The First Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Media Forum became an essential platform for exchanging experiences and discussing best international practices in this area.
