On the eve of the New Year, a construction facility was commissioned in Jizzakh as part of the “Development of the Sewerage Systems of Jizzakh City” project, with the participation of the Asian Development Bank.
The event marking this occasion was attended by the leadership of the Uzsuvtaminot JSC, the regional hokimiyat, representatives of relevant organizations, and the general public.
The Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC, Akhmad Suvonqulov, and others noted that the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country are yielding significant results in all areas and directions. This project, implemented in Jizzakh, is essential to developing the region’s infrastructure.
As a result of the commissioning of this project, a capacity to treat 30,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day has been established.
Additionally, 126.5 kilometers of sewerage networks have been laid and reconstructed, and seven sewage pumping stations have been built and modernized.
As a result, the coverage of wastewater services in Jizzakh has increased to 70%, enabling about 146,000 residents of the regional center and the Sharaf Rashidov district to utilize sewerage services fully. The region’s sanitary and epidemiological conditions have also significantly improved.
