The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Special Industrial Zone “Yangi Avlod” under construction in Yangihayot district in Tashkent.
With the development of industry and entrepreneurship in the country, there is an increasing need for additional production space. The industrial zone created by the decree of the Head of state of March 20 this year will provide such space for many new enterprises.
The complex, which will take an important place in the region’s economy, is spread over an area of 764 hectares. Currently, active work is underway to create infrastructure. The zone will implement 47 projects worth $1.375 billion in the food industry, including producing building materials, electrical, mechanical engineering, and chemical products. These enterprises will ensure the creation of about 12 thousand new jobs.
The President noted that the zone’s enterprises will cooperate with leading international brands. DP World, JAC Motors, Krantas, Acec Japan, East Can Solutions, EAS, and Evyap are among them, and they plan to manufacture high-value-added products for export.
The President was presented with some of the projects being implemented in the zone.
Thus, the Chinese company CAMC Engineering will manage the zone, attract investors and develop infrastructure. JAC Motors plans to establish the production of commercial vehicles. The implementation of this project, worth $135 million, will provide 2,000 jobs.
The production of office furniture and chairs will be launched jointly with the Japanese company Acec Japan. This project costs $9 million and will create jobs for 100 people.
Cooperation with DP World from the United Arab Emirates aims to create a transport and logistics center.
The zone's territory is planned to include laboratories, research centers, conference halls, and retail spaces. Dual training will also be introduced, enabling specialists from industrial enterprises to be trained here.
“In recent years, our GDP has doubled and reached $110 billion. Now, we set a goal to bring this figure to $200 billion. Without creating all the conditions for investors and full project support, we will not achieve this result. Tashkent should become a model in this direction”, the President emphasized.
The responsible persons have been instructed to pay special attention to localization, digitalization, and energy savings in the projects being implemented.
