Uzbekistan and the United Nations have signed a new United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for 2026-2030, setting the stage for the next phase of joint efforts toward inclusive and sustainable development.
The signing ceremony took place at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, coinciding with United Nations Day, symbolizing the enduring partnership between Uzbekistan and the UN.
The new Framework outlines six priority areas – effective governance and justice, decent livelihoods and social protection, quality health and well-being, inclusive education, climate action, and sustainable development of the Aral Sea region. Over the next five years, 25 UN agencies will work alongside the Uzbek Government to support national reforms and development goals.
UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan emphasized that the Framework “puts people at the center of development” and aims to ensure that no one is left behind, particularly vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Developed through broad consultations with government bodies, civil society, youth, and international partners, the Framework aims to build a more prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Uzbekistan by 2030, while turning the Aral Sea region into a model of sustainable growth and human development.
