The Specialized Children’s Surgical Clinic of Samarkand State Medical University and the Oman Group of Minimally Invasive Surgery organized the First Uzbekistan – Oman Symposium and Live Surgery Meeting “In the Land of Avicenna: Towards Building a New Bridge between Old Friends”.

The participants discussed the need to use minimally invasive surgical operations and modern technologies at the event, improve doctors’ knowledge and qualifications, and gain international experience in this field.

Doctors from the Oman International Hospital and the Aster network of clinics and international surgeons Dr. Raad Al Mehdi and Dr. Yahya Al Azri, who conducted master classes, shared their experiences.

At the same time, together with Samarkand specialists, several surgical operations were carried out, patients were examined in a specialized children’s clinic, and the necessary recommendations were given. The symposium participants directly followed the progress of the operation and received answers to their questions from specialists.

As part of the symposium, a meeting between surgeons from Uzbekistan and the Sultanate of Oman took place. The main directions of future cooperation were determined.
