Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov and IICA Director Javlon Vakhabov met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Kaha Imnadze.

The results of the 6th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, held in Astana, were discussed at the meeting. As the UN representative noted, this meeting clearly confirmed the positive and irreversible dynamics of regional cooperation.

The parties also stressed the importance of Uzbekistan’s upcoming chairmanship of the Central Asia+ summits in 2025. In this context, mutual agreement was expressed on the active implementation of the priority areas of practical regional cooperation outlined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, including a new model for the development of economic partnership and industrial collaboration, the promotion of intraregional transport and communication networks, ensuring food security, addressing climate change issues, including partnership in the energy sector.

The parties exchanged views on the schedule of key events planned for 2025 and outlined specific practical steps for organizing and holding joint conferences and forums with the participation of the International Institute for Central Asia.
