A meeting took place at the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) between the Institute’s Director, Javlon Vakhabov, and Dr. Haila Hamad Al-Mekaimi, Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University and a Member of the Advisory Committee for the Supreme Council of the Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on the outcomes of the expert forum “Central Asia – GCC”, which was held on April 21-22 in Tashkent with the support of the Bourse & Bazaar Foundation. Dr. Haila Hamad Al-Mekaimi positively assessed the forum’s results and offered several substantive recommendations.

Special attention was given during the meeting to strengthening academic cooperation between the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) and Kuwait University. The parties discussed prospects for implementing joint research projects, expert exchanges, and academic collaboration in political science, economics, culture, education, and interregional cooperation.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that expanding the partnership between the two institutions would contribute to developing a sustainable expert dialogue and foster closer ties between research organizations.
