
A ceremony was held at the Library of Congress of the United States to present 50 volumes of the book album series “Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections”, published by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU).
During the event, it was emphasized that the creation of this unique collection reflects Uzbekistan’s state policy aimed at preserving national historical and cultural heritage and actively promoting it worldwide.
The series is a comprehensive collection of information about works of Uzbek art preserved in museums and private collections across different countries. These publications play a significant role in studying and safeguarding cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.
Joan Weeks, Head and Area Specialist (Turkic World), Near East Section, African and Middle Eastern Division at the Library of Congress, emphasized the significant contribution of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage to world civilization and stated that the donation of this collection represents an important step in strengthening international scientific and cultural cooperation. She also noted that these books would serve as a valuable source of information for researchers and scholars worldwide.
According to the Center for Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan, the donation of the collection will create a unique opportunity for the general public and academic circles in the United States to gain a deeper understanding of Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage.
