Uzbekistan’s pilgrimage tourism potential showcased in Istanbul
An important exhibition showcasing Uzbekistan’s pilgrimage tourism opportunities on the international stage took place in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The international exhibition “Pilgrimage Tourism: Uzbekistan – Türkiye” represented a significant milestone in enhancing tourism collaboration between the two nations.
The event was organized by the Uzbekistan Umrah Pilgrimage Association, the Tourism Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It gathered over 400 international representatives from the tourism sector, such as hotel chains, airlines, catering firms, ground service providers, and tour operators. About 1,500 tourism professionals and pilgrims from Türkiye also participated in the exhibition.
During the exhibition presentations, detailed information was shared about Uzbekistan’s extensive historical and cultural heritage, sacred sites linked to renowned scholars, pilgrimage tourism routes, modern hotel and transport facilities, and the supportive conditions established for international visitors.
The participants became familiar with the reforms being implemented and the new opportunities being created to develop pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan. It was noted that such events help strengthen Uzbekistan’s tourism brand, attract new partners, and increase the flow of pilgrims.
