Uzbekistan – Oman: important agreements reached in Muscat
The working visit of the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov to Muscat from September 30 to October 2 elevated economic relations between the two countries to a new qualitative level.
During the trip, a series of productive negotiations took place with representatives of Oman’s government and leaders of major companies.
The Uzbekistan delegation met with Minister of Economy Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri and Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri. The parties discussed priority areas of cooperation, including increasing and diversifying mutual trade, deepening industrial cooperation, developing transport and logistics corridors, and expanding transit capabilities.

The talks with representatives of the Omani business circles were practical and covered key sectors such as logistics, energy, oil and gas chemicals, mining, banking, and tourism.
Special attention was paid to developing new manufacturing facilities and logistics hubs, establishing energy storage systems and advanced data centers, deep processing of raw materials, and forming direct supply chains.
Following the visit, the parties agreed on key steps to strengthen the contractual and legal framework of bilateral relations. In particular, the parties reached specific agreements on preparing agreements on preferential trade, mutual promotion and protection of investments, opening new transport corridors, and implementing joint projects. In addition, a joint business forum and an exhibition devoted to the country’s economic potential are scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan in the near future, along with continued direct dialogue with major Omani businesses.
