Uzbekistan and Türkiye are strengthening their collaboration in the media sector
A meeting took place at UzA between the leadership of the Uzbekistan National News Agency and a delegation from the Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World.
The Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World is a non-governmental organization established in Ankara in 2014, aimed at fostering collaboration among Turkic countries in the fields of media, information, culture, and public diplomacy.
The organization fosters professional connections, produces international documentary films, and promotes the shared history and culture of the Turkic peoples. In 2024, it organized the fourth Turkic World International Media and Art Symposium in Tashkent, which it initiated.
The meeting emphasized ongoing efforts to reinforce the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
The growing connection between the two nations, especially in culture, arts, and information exchange, was highlighted. The importance of regularly covering the reforms taking place in both countries was also stressed.
Menderes Demir, the President of the Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World, showed interest in developing ongoing relations with UzA.
Abdusaid Kuchimov, Director General of the Uzbekistan National News Agency, highlighted the importance of expanding information cooperation and implementing measures to systematically enhance employees’ qualifications and professional skills.
“Relations between our countries are developing rapidly”, Menderes Demir noted. “Days of Uzbek Culture and Cinema have been held in Türkiye, while Days of Turkish Culture and Cinema have taken place in Uzbekistan. These events have brought our peoples even closer together. When covering important events in our countries, it is essential to rely on objective, reliable sources. This year, the Congress of Journalists of the Turkic World is planned to be held in Andijan. Work is underway to launch the Turkic World information portal, which will expand news exchange among Turkic states and ensure the prompt dissemination of reliable information. I am confident that these initiatives will elevate our cooperation in the media sphere to a qualitatively new level and strengthen friendship between our peoples”.
