Uzbekistan and South Korea: Cooperation to expand in the green economy and artificial intelligence
Kim Seok-ki, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with the First Deputy Chairperson of the Senate, Sodiq Safoyev, it was noted that relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea are steadily progressing based on trust, mutual respect, and strategic partnership. The effective implementation of agreements made during high-level discussions was positively recognized.
It was noted that interparliamentary cooperation has advanced to a new level in recent years. In particular, it was highlighted that the third meeting of the Speakers of Central Asian states' parliaments and the Republic of Korea, held in Tashkent, was productive. This format was acknowledged as an effective platform for discussing urgent issues and collaboratively finding solutions.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on increasing the activities of interparliamentary cooperation groups, enhancing parliamentary oversight of the implementation of high-level agreements, and expanding cooperation between relevant committees.
An agreement was reached to expand cooperation on legislation, including sharing experience in areas such as the green economy, artificial intelligence, and poverty reduction.
The importance of strengthening cooperation in trade, economic, investment, tourism, healthcare, and education sectors was highlighted.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation.
