Uzbekistan and Hong Kong identify new areas for cooperation
A meeting took place at the Ministry of Economy and Finance with Paul Lam, the Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong SAR, China.
The parties discussed strengthening economic and financial ties between Uzbekistan and Hong Kong, increasing investment collaboration, and attracting new financing sources to support the country’s economy.
The parties discussed Hong Kong’s leading role in international finance and explored ways to utilize modern financial tools effectively. They also focused on enhancing cooperation between public and private sectors and leveraging existing economic potential.
Considering Uzbekistan’s national development priorities, the participants discussed financing large investment projects, boosting their investment appeal, and making the most of international cooperation opportunities.
The meeting also explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration in tourism, education, and artificial intelligence, as well as other economic sectors. Specifically, the parties discussed exchanging knowledge and experience among specialists, boosting human capacity, and launching new joint projects.
Following the meeting, the parties noted their willingness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance financial and investment relations, and pursue joint efforts in new, promising sectors.
