Uzbekistan and FAO to enhance cooperation
On October 7-8 this year, Tashkent will host the Global Technical Forum of Landlocked Developing Countries on Food Security and the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as a major international conference marking World Cotton Day.
Ahead of these events, the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrohim Abdurahmonov met with Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), who is on a working visit to Uzbekistan.

The sides exchanged views on mitigating the adverse impact of global climate change on agriculture, ensuring food security, strengthening the agricultural sector’s resilience, and other priority areas that require particular attention today.

The international forum is expected to bring together high-level representatives from landlocked developing countries, international financial institutions, academia, foreign experts, and the private sector.

The participants will address pressing issues related to strengthening food security, adapting to climate change, adopting modern approaches in agriculture, and building a sustainable agricultural system.
