The President reviewed a new residential complex under construction in Kokand
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Fergana region began with an overview of development work at the New Uzbekistan residential complex in the city of Kokand.
In the country, special attention is being paid to improving housing conditions for the population and introducing modern urban planning standards in the regions. This is facilitated by the New Uzbekistan residential complexes being built across the country, which have become an important part of major social projects aimed at improving the population's well-being.

The new complex under construction in the territory of the ancient city of Kokand is becoming a modern center, reshaping the region’s economic and social landscape.

Kokand has long been a city with a high population density and a developed entrepreneurial base. In this regard, demand for housing here is growing every year. Outdated infrastructure and a limited housing stock require the city’s expansion based on new technologies.

A practical solution to this task has been the residential complex, the construction of which is being carried out in accordance with instructions given by the President two years ago during his visit to the Fergana region. Here, families are being provided with modern apartments equipped with all necessary amenities.
A total of 1 trillion 850 billion UZS has been allocated for the project’s implementation. A comprehensive infrastructure is being developed on the site to accommodate 25,000 residents. Alongside 84 multi-story buildings, the plan includes modern schools, preschools, a higher education institution, a business center, a shopping complex, and parks for public recreation.

This approach will enable residents of the new complex to work, receive education, access services, and enjoy meaningful leisure activities within walking distance of their homes.

The first phase of the project has now been completed: 56 ten-story buildings comprising 4,394 apartments have been commissioned. The apartments, with finished interiors, are provided to the population with a 35 percent down payment, at an annual interest rate of 16 percent over a 20-year term.

The Head of State got acquainted with the conditions and surroundings in one of the new apartments. He emphasized the social significance of the complex, noting that the conditions being created here should not only improve people’s daily lives but also contribute to the formation of a modern mindset and a culture of living.

A sincere conversation was held with representatives of the older generation in Fergana region.
They noted that the principle of a social state is being consistently implemented on the ground: modern educational and medical institutions are being created, mahallas are being landscaped, new enterprises are being opened, and opportunities for entrepreneurship are expanding. According to them, all this is transforming people’s daily lives and strengthening well-being and social stability. Gratitude was expressed to the Head of State for the ongoing reforms.

Here, the President also received presentations on the second phase of construction of the New Uzbekistan residential complex and on the development of the city of Kokand.
