The head of Rosatom presents advanced solutions at the “INNOPROM. Central Asia” exhibition
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich, and the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, visited the stand of the state corporation Rosatom at the 6th International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” in Tashkent.
Head of Rosatom Alexey Likhachev presented solutions in the fields of nuclear energy and electromobility. In particular, the exposition featured a model of an integrated nuclear power plant based on RITM-200N and VVER-1000 reactors, along with electromobility technologies, including a lithium-ion cell, a lithium-ion battery module, and a universal battery.
The format of the integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan was approved for construction under an additional agreement signed on March 24, 2026, by Rosatom, the state corporation, and the Uzatom Agency. The project provides for the construction on a single site of a small modular nuclear power plant and a large-capacity nuclear power plant. Upon completion, the new plant configuration will account for up to 14 percent of the country’s energy consumption. In total, during the construction of both small and large-capacity units, about 13,000 people will be employed simultaneously at the site, and around 2,000 people will be engaged during the operation of the integrated plant. Special attention during the tour of the stand was given to the concept of the “atom city”.
“Nuclear energy in Uzbekistan should become a driver for the development of various sectors – from industry and science to education and social infrastructure. The city that will emerge near the plant will become a center for the development not only of nuclear energy but also of promising areas such as nuclear medicine, materials science, and technologies for sterilizing agricultural products, food, and medical supplies. In such an ‘atom city’, a new community of scientists, technologists, and researchers will take shape, capable not only of acquiring advanced knowledge but also of making a real contribution to strengthening Uzbekistan’s technological sovereignty and creating new growth points for decades ahead”, said Alexey Likhachev.
Russia is consistently developing international trade and economic relations with foreign partners, and the implementation of major international energy projects continues. The state corporation Rosatom is actively involved in this work.
