The economic reforms and regional cooperation efforts in Uzbekistan are highly valued
The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Samir Paul Kapur.
The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan – American relations.

It was noted that in recent years, the partnership between the two countries has reached a qualitatively new level. The importance of effectively using available opportunities to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation was emphasized.
Samir Paul Kapur highly appreciated the large-scale economic reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as the policy to strengthen good-neighborliness, mutual trust, and regional cooperation in Central Asia.
During the meeting, the American delegation was informed about the activities of the Oliy Majlis, the role of parliament in the life of the state and society, and the ongoing work on legal support for the implemented reforms.
