“The Cuisine of Central Asia”
The opening of Kaoru Mori’s exhibition “The Cuisine of Central Asia” took place at the International Caravanserai of Culture named after Ikuo Hirayama.
It was noted that for 16 years, the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts, together with the Degdar Humanitarian Foundation of Kazakhstan, the International Caravanserai of Culture named after Ikuo Hirayama, and the Uzbekistan – Japan Friendship Society, have been holding international charity art festivals “Spring of Japan” and “Autumn of Japan” in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

In 2004, Japan and five Central Asian countries announced a dialogue on the comprehensive development of cooperation.

Kaoru Mori is a famous mangaka. She gained worldwide recognition for her manga “Emma”, which is regarded in Japan as one of the best works in manga history. The artist has several prestigious international awards.


Kaoru Mori is particularly interested in the Central Asian culture. In 2022, she conducted master classes in Bishkek, Tashkent, Samarkand, and Rishtan. One of her popular works, “The Story of a Daughter-in-Law”, was shown in Central Asia.
The exhibition will run until April 12.
