Serbia’s advanced horticulture experience to be introduced in Uzbekistan
The Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurahmonov met with representatives of Kalem Voće Miladinović.
The parties considered prospects for cooperation to launch modern fruit seedling plots in Uzbekistan, introduce advanced seedling-growing and grafting technologies, and establish intensive orchards.
Initially, the project was proposed to begin at the Scientific-Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture, and Winemaking named after Academician M. Mirzaev. The aim is to develop modern fruit seedling cultivation and set up experimental zones.
The parties reviewed the structure of practical training and internship programs for specialists and students, aiming to adapt Serbia’s advanced expertise to Uzbekistan’s context. Based on initial agreements, they are exploring options to train 20-30 students and specialists in modern seedling cultivation, grafting, variety selection, and intensive orchard organization.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize the visit of the Kalem Voće Miladinović representatives to Uzbekistan in September-October 2026.
