Samarkand to host World Summit on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing
On October 21-22, Samarkand will host a significant international event – the World Summit on Investing in Children’s Wellbeing. Over 100 countries will be represented at this forum.
Political leaders, ministers, representatives of international organizations, and experts in social protection, healthcare, and education will attend the summit. A distinctive feature of the event will be the participation of children and adolescents, who will have the opportunity to join discussions on issues directly related to their present and future.
The summit program includes an official opening ceremony, panel sessions, and thematic discussions. In addition, international guests will visit several social facilities in Uzbekistan and learn about projects and approaches the country is implementing to support children and families.
A main focus will be enhancing the social protection system. Participants will explore ways to improve access to and the quality of social services, support for families with children, and conditions that ensure every child can access necessary assistance, regardless of their health or life situation.
Particular attention will be paid to children’s health and early development. The first years of life are crucial to a child’s subsequent physical, intellectual, and emotional development. Experts will therefore consider modern approaches to providing medical and social support to children from birth.
An additional key focus will be on developing inclusive education. Participants will explore ways to improve accessibility for children with diverse needs and establish conditions that allow every child to learn, grow, and engage fully in society.
The Second International Congress on Childhood Cancer will take place during the World Summit in Samarkand. It will gather specialists from various countries to share experiences, discuss advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques, and explore new ways to enhance medical care for children with cancer.
