President reviews infrastructure facilities for hosting major events in Khiva
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of the new Congress Hall, a three-star hotel, and the Khiva Ichan Kala Reception House in Khiva.
These facilities were built in accordance with a document signed by the Head of State on April 30, 2026. Their commissioning will create about 2,000 new jobs, enable hotel services for 50,000 tourists annually, and increase service exports to $4 million.

The Congress Hall, designed as a harmonious blend of modern, premium style and elements of traditional Khorezm architecture, is intended to host international forums, business conferences, intergovernmental negotiations, and cultural events.
A total of 857 billion UZS in budget funds was allocated for the construction of the complex, which spans 1.9 hectares. Extensive green areas and walkways have been created around it, and landscaping work has been carried out as part of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project.

A three-star hotel has been built next to the Congress Hall to provide comfortable accommodation for participants in international events and tourists. The project, worth 169 billion UZS and covering 1.6 hectares, has created 60 new jobs.
The four-story hotel has 156 rooms with a total capacity of 310 guests, plus a spacious lobby, reception area, restaurant and bar, children’s room, and terrace. It also features a wellness area with an indoor swimming pool, fitness facilities, and wellness spaces.

The Congress Hall, the Boqiy Shahar Historical and Ethnographic Park, and the handicraft rows are all within a few minutes’ walk of the hotel along landscaped green walkways.
The Head of State also inspected the Khiva Ichan Kala Reception House. The complex, spanning 2 hectares, is intended for official events and receiving foreign delegations. The project costs 260 billion UZS.

The building’s architecture makes extensive use of monumental carved wooden columns characteristic of Khorezm, decorative ganch elements, and blue-and-turquoise glazed tiles. Photo exhibitions highlighting the region’s rich history and traditional craft workshops have been arranged around the Reception House.
Here, the Head of State also held a warm conversation with public representatives in Khorezm region. The discussion focused on the large-scale transformations taking place in the region in recent years, as well as changes in people’s lifestyles and outlooks. It was noted that the spirit of development and renewal associated with New Uzbekistan is becoming increasingly evident on the ancient land of Khorezm. It was emphasized that efforts to transform the region into a modern, well-developed, and prosperous area, while carefully preserving its rich history and traditions, will continue consistently.

The President issued directives to optimize the use of these complexes, increase the number of major international events in Khiva, improve the quality of tourism services, and create new jobs.
