President of Uzbekistan discusses progress of projects with SOCAR and British Petroleum

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Rovshan Najaf, head of the Azerbaijani company SOCAR, and Giovanni Cristofoli, Senior Vice President of British Petroleum, who are in Uzbekistan to participate in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors in the Fuel and Energy Sector.

The successful cooperation established with these leading energy companies was expressed with satisfaction.

The meeting focused on further practical steps to develop hydrocarbon fields on the Ustyurt Plateau. British Petroleum’s participation in this major project was highly appreciated.

The importance of promoting new projects in the oil and gas sector, establishing long-term supply arrangements, and developing a network for the sale of oil and petroleum products was emphasized.
