President of Uzbekistan discusses partnership priorities with the New Development Bank
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The focus was on building cooperation with this international financial institution, mainly to implement the high-level agreements from earlier meetings.

Dilma Rousseff highly praised the transformations underway in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to further support the country’s priority areas of socio-economic development.

Uzbekistan’s accession to the New Development Bank as a member state was noted with satisfaction. An agreement was reached to develop a medium-term portfolio of joint projects in energy, water management, transport, and engineering infrastructure, as well as support for the private and social sectors, with the participation of the Bank’s expert missions. The importance of the NDB’s participation in implementing major transport and logistics projects of regional significance was emphasized.

Particular attention was paid to the Bank’s participation in ongoing programs and projects supporting the country’s environmental transformation.
Plans to host major New Development Bank events in Uzbekistan were considered.
