Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network holds Coordination Meeting at 153rd IPU Assembly
A coordination meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network was held on the sidelines of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tanzania.
The meeting focused on strengthening interparliamentary cooperation and coordinating member states’ positions ahead of the election of the IPU President.

Head of the Uzbekistan delegation, Tanzila Narbayeva, acknowledged Sahiba Gafarova’s contribution to strengthening interparliamentary dialogue and reaffirmed her support for Gafarova’s candidacy for IPU President.

“In today’s complex international environment, preserving peace and stability, building trust between countries, and sustaining dialogue despite differing views are especially important”, Tanzila Narbayeva said. “Every parliament represents the interests of its people. Yet people’s aspirations for peace, security, and a decent life unite us all. These principles also underpin the foreign policy pursued by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Uzbekistan advocates open dialogue, equal cooperation, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts internationally. We will continue working together to strengthen ties, exchange legislative experience, and ensure the practical implementation of decisions adopted in line with the priorities set out in the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Tashkent Declaration”.
During the meeting, the candidates presented their election platforms and outlined their priorities for the organization’s continued development.
