Measures to support vulnerable segments of the population in connection with Qurbon Hayit discussed
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation of proposals for socio-economic support for vulnerable segments of the population in connection with Qurbon Hayit (Eid al-Adha).
In Uzbekistan, ensuring human interests, protecting the population’s social welfare, and fostering an atmosphere of kindness, mercy, and solidarity in society are among the priority areas of state policy. These principles are especially evident during the sacred holiday of Qurbon Hayit, which embodies the noble qualities inherent in our people.
The presentation included reports on proposals developed by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Social Protection, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, and the Waqf Public Charitable Foundation.

They provide for large-scale events to be held in connection with the holiday of Qurbon Hayit.
In particular, it is planned to cover the costs of surgical operations for 10,000 children suffering from serious illnesses and diseases that lead to disability, as well as medical examinations, treatment, and surgical interventions for 2,300 patients with oncological, hematological, and oncohematological diagnoses, and liver and kidney transplant operations for at least 350 people.
Special attention will also be given to supporting children in need of social protection. It is planned to transfer $200 to the savings accounts of more than 8,000 orphans and children left without parental care, as well as the children of servicemen who died defending the borders of the Motherland.

In addition, to create convenient conditions for the population, modern ablution rooms will be reconstructed, repaired, or built in 500 mosques, and cemeteries will be improved locally.
Families receiving state support, older people living alone, and persons with disabilities who need outside care will receive food packages.
These measures will be financed by 690 billion UZS allocated to the Waqf Public Charitable Foundation.

Along with this, it is planned to organize charity meals for socially vulnerable groups of the population and to perform qurban at pilgrimage sites and religious educational institutions.
The President emphasized that measures to support those in need, treat patients, and help children must be organized transparently and in a targeted manner, and issued relevant instructions to responsible officials.
