Freight transportation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has risen
The freight volume between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in 2025 reached a record 32.3 million tons, up 16 percent from 2024.
This is the best result in the past 10 years.
Chairman of the Management Board of the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Talgat Aldibergenov, and Chairman of the Management Board of the Uzbekistan Railways, Zufar Narzullayev, also note that Kazakhstan’s exports amounted to 13 million tons (an increase of 8.5 percent), while grain supplies to Uzbekistan grew by 32 percent and exceeded 4.5 million tons. This positive trend continues in 2026. In the first two months, 6.6 million tons were shipped, a 37.5 percent increase over the same period last year.
An important issue is the organization of the “Darboza–Maktaoral” route.
