Effective dialogue among representatives of the Interior Ministries of the CIS Member States
Tashkent hosted a Regular Meeting of the Heads of the Criminal Unit Departments of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the CIS Member States.
The event, organized at Uzbekistan’s initiative, was attended by delegations from the Interior Ministries of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, as well as the Office for the Coordination of the Fight Against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Types of Crime on the Territory of CIS member-states.

The participants highly appreciated the initiatives and proposals of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at combating drug crime in the region, suppressing illicit drug trafficking, and eliminating the activities of transnational criminal networks. The delegates emphasized the role of these initiatives in strengthening regional security, promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people, expanding practical cooperation among law enforcement agencies, and improving information exchange mechanisms.

The parties discussed developing cooperation to ensure international and regional security and to prevent new threats and risks related to drug trafficking in the Commonwealth of Independent States. They also considered developing a coordinated approach to combating regional online marketplaces and other Internet resources through which drugs are distributed. In addition, the parties focused on implementing best practices and innovative solutions to counter drug crime and on exchanging practical experience among specialists and others.
The heads of delegations considered the issue of intensification of cooperation through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, taking into account the growing instability in the international arena.
Following the events, the parties signed the meeting protocol to consolidate the agreements. The event will help strengthen comprehensive cooperation among the states.
