Cooperation to be established with Shanghai Lingang Industrial Park

Representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies held talks with partners from the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai on strategic cooperation in data exchange.

It was noted that over the last six years, Shanghai Lingang Industrial Park has attracted over $100 billion in investment. Its total size exceeds 120 square miles.

The potential to attract China’s leading technology companies to Uzbekistan by establishing a representative office in a special zone was discussed during the dialogue. Issues of creating startup hubs at Uzbekistan’s universities in cooperation with Chinese universities, and the development of digital services and smart city systems in the country through the introduction of best practices in digitalization, were also considered.

Thomas Wang, Founder and Chairman of Linkwise, announced the shipment of $70 million worth of computing equipment to Uzbekistan as part of the first stage of the data center project planned for implementation in Takhiatash.
