Uzbekistan’s boxers achieve success at the World Cup
The World Boxing Cup has concluded in Guiyang, China.
In the men’s competition, the Uzbekistan national team reaffirmed its standing as a world leader in boxing.
The team won three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, placing first in total medals.
In the overall medal standings, the host nation finished first with five gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Kazakhstan placed second with five gold and three bronze medals, and Uzbekistan ranked third with four gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.
Abdumalik Khalokov (-60 kg), Javokhir Ummataliyev (-80 kg), Turabek Khabibullayev (-90 kg), and Nigina Uktamova (-57 kg) each won gold medals.
Asilbek Jalilov (-50 kg), Farzona Fozilova (-48 kg), and Oltinay Sotimbayeva (+80 kg) each won silver medals.
Akmaljon Isroilov (-85 kg), Arman Makhanov (+90 kg), Sitora Turdibekova (-60 kg), and Aziza Zokirova (-75 kg) each won bronze medals.
The coaching staff, headed by Tulqin Qilichev and Elshod Rasulov, played a key role in the team’s success.
