Uzbekistan strengthens cooperation with the UNFPA
A delegation led by the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Diene Keita visited the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health.
According to the Ministry of Health, the Minister of Health Eldor Adilov met with the high-ranking guest.
An agreement was reached to improve antenatal care and to introduce advanced treatment protocols and standards into obstetric practice.
Issues related to expanding programs for the early detection of oncological diseases in women and to introducing modern diagnostic approaches were also discussed. It was noted that special attention should be paid to expanding awareness-raising, preventive, and educational programs to strengthen the health of adolescents and young people. A recently signed decree by the Head of State in this area establishes an independent clinical audit inspectorate.
