Uzbekistan now has 30 foreign higher education institutions

The number of foreign higher education institutions in Uzbekistan is increasing each year.

According to the National Statistics Committee, 30 foreign universities were operating in the country at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Over the past 20 years, this figure has increased 15-fold, and over the past decade, 4.3-fold. The dynamics by academic year are as follows:

2005/2006 – 2;

2010/2011 – 6;

2015/2016 – 7;

2020/2021 – 18;

2025/2026 – 30.

The fastest growth has been recorded over the past five years.
