Uzbekistan and the UK to strengthen cooperation in trade, education, healthcare, and security
The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Speaker of the UK House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, on the sidelines of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), currently underway in Arusha, Tanzania.
The parties discussed strengthening interparliamentary ties, expanding mutual visits and exchanges of experience, and developing cooperation across trade, education, healthcare, and security.

Recalling his participation in an event in London marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, Lindsay Hoyle noted that the occasion underscored the importance of relations between the two countries. “It is essential to cooperate closely in trade, education, healthcare, and security, further develop relations between our countries, and take them to the highest level”, he said.
The Senate Chairperson proposed holding a joint interparliamentary meeting or event in Uzbekistan and invited Lindsay Hoyle to pay an official visit to the country.
