Uzbekistan and Qatar united by a shared commitment to peace and harmony
On the sidelines of the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti.
The parties exchanged views on the international and regional situation. Qatar’s efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully and to facilitate negotiation processes were highly appreciated.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan supports diplomatic initiatives to ease tensions in the region. The importance of promoting peace and stability on international platforms and of strengthening cooperation within the IPU’s geopolitical groups was also highlighted.
Tanzila Narbayeva noted that the close, trusting relations between the heads of state provide a solid foundation for expanding interparliamentary cooperation.
Hamda Al Sulaiti supported the proposal to develop a joint roadmap and emphasized the need to ensure the active participation of interparliamentary friendship groups in the process.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop relations between the two countries and to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation through practical measures.
