Uzbekistan and Iran are collaborating on joint agricultural initiatives
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Mohammad Ali Eskandari.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and implementing new joint projects in the agricultural sector.
Particular attention was paid to developing cooperation in agricultural mechanization, agricultural science and innovation, and to introducing modern agricultural machinery and advanced technologies.
In addition, the parties considered opportunities to expand exports of mineral fertilizers and legumes to Iran and to implement joint investment projects in seed production, fish farming, and livestock breeding.
The discussions also focused on studying Iran’s best practices in the agricultural sector, introducing modern agricultural technologies, and organizing educational and practical programs to improve specialists’ qualifications.
