Turkic World Dialogues: Shared Future, Shared Vision

Türkiye Directorate of Communications organized a session in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of its panel discussion series titled “Turkic World Dialogues: Shared Future, Shared Vision”.

The event opened with remarks from Professor Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), and from Ufuk Ulutaş, Türkiye’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan. 

Burhanettin Duran, Head of Communications of the Republic of Türkiye, addressed the participants via a video message. Highlighting the Organization of Turkic States’ (OTS) vision of openness to international cooperation, he underscored the importance of partnership across the Turkic world in transport, energy, trade, and the digital economy. 

The panel discussion focused on strengthening political, economic, academic, and people-to-people ties across the Turkic world and advancing cooperation within the OTS toward more concrete and sustainable areas of engagement.

Javlon Vakhabov, Deputy Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy and Director of the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA), noted that cooperation within the OTS should focus on deepening economic ties, strengthening transport and infrastructure connectivity, and expanding the exchange of technology and expertise.

Emphasizing the need to ensure that economic growth translates into job creation, higher incomes, and improved public welfare, he identified the development of the technological capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises, the training of skilled personnel aligned with labor market needs, the modernization of energy infrastructure, and stronger cooperation among think tanks as priority areas.

The second part of the event featured a meeting with media representatives and journalists accredited in Tashkent. The discussions focused on the importance of the upcoming high-level summit for the political, economic, and institutional integration of the Turkic world, as well as on growing cooperation among member states in transport, security, and foreign policy.
