The Centre for Contemporary Arts to open in Tashkent
On September 6, the capital will host the opening of the Centre for Contemporary Arts Tashkent (CCA Tashkent).
The new cultural space is housed in a historic building constructed in 1912 by architect Wilhelm Heinzelmann. Originally, it served as a tram depot and a diesel power plant.
The building, maintaining its historical form and industrial character, has now been converted into a hub for contemporary art, scientific research, and cultural exchange.
The center’s architectural design, created by the renowned French Studio KO Bureau, skillfully merges historical heritage with contemporary infrastructure. It features exhibition halls, a library, and educational areas.
The center will serve as a venue for contemporary art exhibitions, cultural events, educational lectures, and film screenings.
