Tashkent takes a step toward becoming an International Financial Center
The President of Uzbekistan has signed the Constitutional Law “On the Tashkent International Financial Center”. This was announced by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, who described the document as one of the year’s most important economic developments and as the result of reforms the country has pursued for almost a decade.
She states that the creation of the Tashkent International Financial Center has been officially recognized at the constitutional level for the first time. This Center will function as a jurisdiction with a unique legal status, grounded in the principles of English law.
The law establishes a dedicated regulatory framework, an independent commercial court, and a modern legal environment aligned with international standards. These measures aim to enhance Uzbekistan’s appeal to foreign investors, banks, investment funds, and international financial institutions.
Saida Mirziyoyeva highlighted that the new regulatory framework aims to boost the country’s appeal to investors, innovative financial services, and international projects. She emphasized that this law represents an investment in trust, the most valuable asset in the global market. By establishing transparent rules and robust capital protection, Tashkent is confidently moving towards integration into the global financial system and becoming a significant driver of regional economic growth.
