Students from the UWED Academic Lyceum visited the UN Office in Geneva

The international educational visit program for students of the Academic Lyceum at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy is ongoing.

The program’s first stop was Geneva, Switzerland, where participants toured the United Nations Office at Geneva, one of the largest hubs for international diplomacy worldwide.

During the visit, students explored the UN’s activities in Geneva, its primary goals and role in fostering international cooperation. They gained insights into the organization’s history, structure, and main focus areas: human rights protection, maintenance of peace and security, promotion of sustainable development, and humanitarian efforts.

The delegation members also toured the historic assembly halls, conference rooms, and museum exhibits at the UN Office. During the meeting, they had the chance to inquire with specialists about international diplomacy, multilateral negotiation mechanisms, and the organization’s place in current international relations.

The visit enhanced students’ understanding of international relations, diplomacy, and global governance.

The next phase of the program involves visiting top higher education institutions in Germany. Students from the UWED Academic Lyceum will explore the unique aspects of the German higher education system, the research capabilities of universities, and how educational processes are organized.
