Sports equipment meeting international standards produced in Baliqchi
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of the LB Sport enterprise in Baliqchi district.
Uzbekistan pays particular attention to developing the sports industry, encouraging broader private-sector participation in this field, and increasing domestic production. A key part of this process is manufacturing high-quality sports equipment that meets international standards and can replace imported products.
LB Sport is among the top sports equipment manufacturers in the country, collaborating with over 20 sports federations.
The project was implemented in accordance with the resolution of the Head of State of March 24 this year, which aimed to expand entrepreneurs’ participation in the sports sector.
The total project cost, financed entirely by the entrepreneur’s own funds, is 25 billion UZS. The enterprise produces 65 product types across 18 sports. It manufactures 500,000 units of sports equipment annually, valued at 75 billion UZS.
The products are comparable in quality to their foreign counterparts yet more affordable. They are exported to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other CIS countries, with annual exports totaling $3 million.
Particular attention is also given to employing the local population. The enterprise has established home-based employment partnerships with 800 low-income families in Baliqchi district.
Women make up 90 percent of home-based workers, and 65 percent are young people under 30. This system enables people to earn a stable income while working from home.
The enterprise has integrated education and production. 100 students from district technical schools No. 1 and No. 2 are studying under the dual education system. They reinforce their theoretical knowledge directly through the production process.
The Head of State reviewed the production process and samples of finished products.
Information was presented on the enterprise’s future plans. In 2027, the enterprise plans to attract foreign investment to expand production and implement a project to manufacture sports bicycles.
The President also spoke with talented young people and employees of the enterprise.
