Saida Mirziyoyeva holds several meetings on the sidelines of the UN Commission Session in Vienna
The 35th Session of the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice was held in Vienna. It was attended by more than 1,500 high-ranking representatives and experts from 175 countries. This year, Uzbekistan became a member of the Commission for the first time.
The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, delivered a national report at the session. She presented the results of the reforms carried out in the country in the areas of justice, the protection of women’s and children’s rights, crime prevention, and youth support.

“Cybercrime, corruption, and domestic violence have no borders. Therefore, we need to fight them together – through dialogue, exchange of experience, and international cooperation”, Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized.
During her visit to Austria, she also met with the Presidents of the Austrian Federal Council, Markus Stotter, and the Austrian National Council, Walter Rosenkranz. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Austria, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the reforms underway in Uzbekistan, including the democratization of society and the modernization of the public administration system.

In addition, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with Monica Juma, Director-General/Executive Director of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The parties discussed developing cooperation to counter drug threats and implementing initiatives proposed at the April 2026 Samarkand International Forum on Combating Drugs.

Special attention was paid to a side event organized by Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the Commission session, devoted to the protection of women, children, and youth.

Saida Mirziyoyeva expressed gratitude to Monica Juma for her support of the side event focused on protecting women, children, and youth. She also indicated that they are prepared to deepen their collaboration with UNODC in the areas of security, justice, and sustainable development.
