"Safe City" – The Digital Guarantee of Road Safety
Road traffic safety is not solely the responsibility of the highway patrol or the driver. Today, urban infrastructure, modern technologies, automated control systems, and digital data are also becoming vital tools for protecting human lives on the roads. The "Safe City" project serves this very purpose.
The growing number of vehicles on the streets of the Fergana region today makes this issue increasingly urgent.
According to the State Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2026, the Fergana region has one of the highest figures in the country. 573,472 motor vehicles belonging to individuals are registered in the region. By this measure, Fergana ranks third after the city of Tashkent and the Samarkand region.
This number alone shows the great need for modern technologies in the region's cities and districts to effectively manage traffic, reduce congestion, detect violations early, and prevent accidents.
For this purpose, implementing the "Safe City" project is a pressing matter.
"Safe City" is an integrated system aimed at managing urban security processes using digital technologies.
Its most important feature for road safety is its automatic photo and video recording capability. This means it will be possible to detect running red lights, exceeding the speed limit, and other traffic violations with minimal human involvement.
The cameras operate around the clock, continuously monitoring traffic flow.
The Fergana region is one of the most densely populated areas, with its cities and districts located close to one another. In major cities like Fergana, Kokand, and Margilan, the flow of traffic is heavy throughout the day.
From this perspective, over 573,000 vehicles represent a very large volume of traffic. Therefore, it is important to develop "Safe City" technologies in the context of the Fergana region not just as a tool for recording violations, but as a unified digital mechanism for traffic management.
The Fergana regional administration is attracting foreign investors to carry out this task. This very project was discussed by the governor of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, and a delegation from Israel led by investor Lev Horovich.
The dialogue focused on the effective use of modern digital technologies to ensure road safety, prevent offenses, and strengthen public security.
