Romanian Ambassador: Sport further strengthens the bonds of friendship between our countries
As we previously reported, the 2nd Tashkent International Half Marathon was held in our capital, with over 24,000 participants. The event featured a 5-kilometer mass race and a 21.0975-kilometer half marathon, and the winners were announced at its conclusion.

In particular, Daniel Kristian Ciobanu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to our country, participated in the 5-kilometer race at this international half marathon. He noted that the "Tashkent International Half Marathon" serves to strengthen international sports cooperation and drew special attention to the event's high level of organization.

Speaking on the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Romania in the field of sports, the Ambassador highlighted that Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov achieved a significant result in the prestigious "Super Chess Classic Romania 2024" tournament, held in Bucharest from May 14-24 of this year.

He also acknowledged the successful performance of our country's rhythmic gymnastics team at the "World Challenge Cup" stage in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from June 26-28, 2024, and the participation of the Uzbekistan women's national team in the U-18 Women's World Handball Championship held in Romania from July 29 to August 9.
