Relations between Uzbekistan and the United Nations reach a completely new level

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

The current state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations were discussed. The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the areas of regional security, sustainable development, environmental protection, and mitigation of the consequences of the Aral crisis.

It was emphasized that in recent years, Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the United Nations has reached a fundamentally new level. The international community actively supports the country’s initiatives, and the launch of the UN Women Office in Uzbekistan has been a significant confirmation of the correctness of the course.
