President of Uzbekistan meets with the King of Jordan

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan on the sidelines of the Aqaba Process meeting in Astana.

The President of Uzbekistan noted the important role of the Aqaba Process, launched at the initiative of the King of Jordan, and its growing significance amid emerging threats worldwide.

The meeting focused on key issues related to expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including progress in implementing agreements reached at the highest level.

The steady increase in mutual visits and contacts in recent years was noted with satisfaction. Direct air links have been established, a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission has been held, and a Business Council has been established.

During the talks, an agreement was reached to develop cooperation, particularly by strengthening ties in trade, the economy, investment, culture and humanitarian affairs.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Jordan also exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming high-level bilateral events and other issues on the agenda.
