Organizational issues related to the Second Asian Women’s Forum at a high level under discussion
Ceren Güven Güres, Head of the UN Women Central Asia Liaison Office and Representative of the Uzbekistan Country Office, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
During the meeting with the Chairperson of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Youth, Women, Culture and Sports Orzigul Qozikhonova, large-scale reforms implemented in the country to protect women’s rights, increase their socio-political activity, and ensure gender equality, as well as organizational issues related to the Second Asian Women’s Forum at a high level, were discussed.

The parties stressed the importance of cooperation and the need for its consistent and continuous development, and expressed their willingness to further expand practical cooperation in this area.
Special attention was paid to enriching the event’s content, focusing on practical outcomes and developing a final document based on specific proposals and recommendations. The UN Women expressed its readiness to provide practical assistance in the careful development of the draft document with the participation of international experts.

Issues of broad involvement of highly qualified specialists, international experts, and practitioners, as well as the participation of reputable speakers, depending on the panel session topic, were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to consistently implement joint initiatives to provide comprehensive support for women and promote gender equality.
