Nukus hosts the International Investment Forum
An international investment forum on developing the chemical industry based on salt processing took place at the Oqqush Complex in Nukus.
Amanbay Orinbayev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, addressed the opening ceremony and welcomed participants.
It should be noted that in recent years, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has placed particular emphasis on advancing international economic relations, enhancing the investment attractiveness of Karakalpakstan, and supporting entrepreneurs in the region.
The event is attended by more than 100 investors from around 20 countries.

The benefits of investing in Karakalpakstan primarily stem from its strategic geographic position and logistical advantages, as it shares borders with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. It offers convenient logistics routes for delivering products to European countries, two international airports, and international highways and railways. Secondly, depending on the amount of investment, land will be allocated directly to investors without an auction. Thirdly, tax incentives are provided, including a 50 percent reduction in all taxes. In addition, an enterprise established anywhere in Karakalpakstan will be granted the status of a “Participant of the Free Economic Zone”.
The forum highlighted the region’s current potential, infrastructure advantages, and available incentives. Participants were also informed about mineral raw material deposits, including the Barsakelmes salt deposit, which spans 110,000 hectares and has virtually inexhaustible reserves. In addition, participants held B2B meetings to negotiate promising projects.
Participants also visited the Kungrad Soda Plant FE LLC, the International Logistics Center, the Barsakelmes salt deposit, and the Kungrad Salt Free Zone.
