Meeting with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President

The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismoilov met with a delegation led by Pere Joan Pons Sampietro, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

The parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, as well as issues related to protecting human rights, ensuring decent working conditions, and regulating labor migration.

Pere Joan Pons Sampietro highly praised the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years. He paid particular attention to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s efforts to strengthen mutual trust and good-neighborly relations in Central Asia, as well as to develop trade, economic, and transport links between the countries of the region.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
