Khiva hosts the “Central Asia – Germany” Experts Forum.
The event, organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, is attended by representatives of the expert community from Central Asian countries and Germany, as well as representatives from international organizations and leading analytical centers.
Welcoming remarks at the opening of the forum were delivered by the Director of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov, Hokim of Khorezm region Jurabek Rakhimov, and Head of the Central Asia Regional Programme of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation André Algermissen. Video messages were also presented by the Commissioner of the German Federal Foreign Office for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia Niklas Wagner and Member of the Bundestag, Chairman of the “Germany – Central Asia” parliamentary group Christian Görke.
It was noted that this interregional dialogue is an important step in shaping a new architecture for cooperation between Central Asian countries and Germany.
