Javokhir Sindarov: “The World Championship will be challenging for everyone”
After another phase of the Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz 2026, part of the Grand Chess Tour in St. Louis, Uzbekistan’s Javokhir Sindarov shared details about his preparations for the upcoming match against Gukesh Dommaraju.
“This year, Gukesh Dommaraju has been performing very well”, says J. Sindarov. “However, I believe that even when he holds a winning position, he occasionally loses his composure. Nevertheless, he possesses a key strength: the ability to turn challenging situations and even near defeats into victories. His games demonstrate excellent practical skills and deep positional analysis. I know he is a formidable chess player, a fact I have experienced firsthand in our competitions. Of course, I am working on developing my own strategy to counter his strong positional play, which relies on thorough analysis. The upcoming World Championship matches will be tough for everyone”.
